Within the TimeTrak app from version 22.1.6 there is now the ability to set the geolocation of a serviceable unit.
To enable this functionality app users will need to have “Enable Google Maps” enabled against their profile as per below:
As well as “Edit Serviceable Units” as per below:
If both of these profile settings are enabled, app users can access Serviceable Units via the TimeTrak app.
On selection of a serviceable unit a new “Set Location” option will be available under Actions.
Note: If the serviceable unit does not already have a geo location set, the location icon will be displayed as per below to indicate this to field staff.
If the serviceable unit does not have a site address:
The map will load with the users current geo location pinned where users can then click “Save” to update the geo location of the serviceable unit to their current location.
If the users current location is not the location of the unit, users can search the location of the unit in the search address bar (1) and click the maginifying glass in the keypad (2)
Which will redirect the map to the new geolocation as per below before clicking save to update this location against the unit.
Because the unit has no site address the below “Update Site Address” prompt will display on screen passing in the geo location which can be adjusted slightly if required before clicking save to update the site address against the unit as well.
If the serviceable unit does have a site address:
In this example the serviceable unit has a site address specified but no geo location set against the unit.
On selecting Set Location against the unit, the units site address has been searched automatically and is pinned on screen for the user to save as per below:
When the serviceable unit has both a site address and geo location specified:
On selecting Set location against the pinned geo location will be displayed.
If this geo location is no longer valid users can change this before clicking save to update the geo location.
Because there is already a site address against the unit there will be no prompt to update this and the site address will not be automatically be updated as clients may have data against the unit such as the name of the building they do not want to be updated.
The Site address can be manually updated by clicking EDIT against the serviceable unit and updating the site address details.
Set Geo location to “Current Location” and change Geo Location View:
If this geo location is no longer valid users can click the location icon below which will change the geo location to the users current location:
There is also the ability to click the satellite view icon below which will change the view to assist with setting the geo location of the unit as per below:
